The following books are all listed on Amazon and are here to try & help you make an informed decision before you sell your old, antique, or scrap gold.
As we mentioned earlier it isn’t always the best plan to just sell an old item made from precious metals for it’s scrap gold value, it may have a higher antique or collectable value to collectors, so if you can’t find the information online, or you can’t find a specialist antiques dealer to look at your item, then please consider the following books, it may save you a lot of money.
In reality most old or scrap gold will be just worth it’s scrap value, but if you aren’t sure it really isn’t worth taking the risk.
It can be quite amazing how much collectors will pay for even quite damaged items, and if you’re looking to raise money by selling your old gold then it would be silly to not make sure that you’re getting the best price possible.
Just to give you an idea of how crazy collectors can be, have a look at this antique Worcester porcelain creamer. It was bought on eBay for under £200 and doesn’t look much, but sold at auction for a mind boggling £46,800 !!!
See what I mean? Why take the risk for the sake of spending a few pounds on a book? You can imagine how the guy who sold the antique creamer felt – you don’t want to end up feeling the same way, do you?
